Anonymous hacktivists are not the only hackers targeting the English Defence League these days. Muslim hackers have also set their sights on the far-right organization.

On Thursday, Muslim hackers calling themselves "Cyber Jihadi" defaced the controversial organization’s main website, englishdefenceleague.org.

According to IllSecure, they published the following message on the site’s homepage: “Hacked by Muslim hackers! - Allahu Akbar! Labayk Allah'uma Labayk! Allahu Akbar! Inshallah We will liberate Palestine - Ya Allah help the people of Bilad as Sham! Ya Allah help the people of Khorasan and Islamic state of Iraq! O Al Quds We are coming!”

In addition to defacing the website’s main page, the hackers also uploaded several Islamic videos to the EDL site’s “Videos” section.

IllSecure believes that the hackers breached the site either by exploiting a Joomla vulnerability or by hijacking the Joomla account of an EDL staffer.

At the time of writing, the EDL website was restored.

In the meantime, the EDL has responded to Anonymous’ operation. The organization published a video and some of its supporters have even started trolling Anonymous.
