The far-right group's members appear to be concerned about OpEDL

A few days ago, following the protests of the English Defence League against Muslims in response to the London cleaver attack, Anonymous hackers initiated OpEDL. The hacktivists vowed to take down the far-right organization.

To start with, the hackers have leaked the details of hundreds of individuals believed to be linked to the English Defence League.

However, the information is not new. It was first leaked years ago by the TeaMp0isoN hacker collective when they launched a campaign against the EDL.

This has been confirmed by the group’s former leader TriCk, who has now given up on illegal hacking activities.

“My hacktivism may have stopped but my activism hasn’t! So I’ll still oppose EDL on the streets like I always have done!” TriCk, who is the founder of the IllSecure.com website, wrote on Twitter.

On the other hand, while the details of the EDL members might be old, it doesn’t mean the EDL isn’t concerned about OpEDL.

“Due to security issues the page will be unpublished tonight. See you all in the morning,” EDL representatives wrote on Twitter and Facebook.

When asked about what security issues they are referring to, EDL replied “hacking.”

In the meantime, the initiators of OpEDL say that the operation is far from being over.
