A few days back, word got out on the Internet that the 12-year-old boy who rose to international fame after performing Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” at a school event, had already been signed on by a record label. And it wasn’t just any record label, as rumor said Interscope had jumped at the chance to work with him. As it turns out, it will be on Ellen DeGeneres’ label that Greyson Michael Chance will release his first album.

As we also reported a while back, Greyson has taped another appearance on Ellen, who seems to have taken quite a fancy to him, with the interview scheduled to air today, May 26. As a teaser for the show, Ellen has released only a 16-second segment, but one that is about to change Greyson’s life for ever: she will start a record label and he will be the first artist to record on it.

“I was so inspired by 12-year-old Greyson Chance that we decided to make a record together. I am starting my own record label called eleveneleven!” Ellen writes on her Ellen page, in a post accompanying the video with the announcement. As for what else went down while taping the show, Greyson tweeted about it as follows: “Had a great time on @TheEllenShow. It was great to have the opportunity to perform a song I wrote called Broken Hearts! I hope you like it.”

Greyson first appeared on Ellen the day after his video on YouTube shot straight to a few millions of viewers, after being picked up by all the major music media outlets. Also then, he got to talk a bit with the woman whose song he’d covered, Lady Gaga herself, who dispensed some very useful advice in case Greyson was thinking of launching a music career: forget about girls, she told him. This second interview with the unlikely star will also feature scenes from his home, where Ellen took cameras to show the millions of supporters how Greyson lived.

“Ellen just can’t stop thinking about GREYSON CHANCE! Since she featured the amazing 12-year-old, his YouTube video has received over 27 million views! Ellen sent cameras to his home in Oklahoma so we could all get to know him a little better. She’ll show it to you when he’s here today,” Ellen wrote on her official page back then. Until more details on the new deal emerge, below is the video of Ellen making the announcement.
