We've been hearing quite a lot of things about Eidos lately, as its acquisition by Japanese company Square Enix has been the subject of many reports by the gaming press. We've seen how the company will continue to operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of the famous corporation but nothing concrete has been spilled about the projects its studios across the world have under development.

Recently, Ian Livingstone, who was appointed lifetime president of Eidos, has talked with GamingIndians about what new titles and projects we should expect from studios such as IO Interactive or Crystal Dynamic, which are under the Eidos umbrella.

Seeing what he has said, only one word can describe the lineup of titles: sequels. From a new Hitman game to Kane and Lynch 2, or a brand-new Tomb Raider, we're going to get new versions of famous franchises from almost all the studios from the UK-based publisher.

“[The next Hitman] is being worked on, but there’s been no announcement on the release date yet. We haven’t even announced the game yet, so everything you hear about the next Hitman game is purely speculation at this point. Yes, it’s IO Interactive. They’re making Hitman, Kane and Lynch and also Mini Ninjas; all at the same studio.”

In regards to Kane and Lynch 2, Livingstone revealed, “There’s a target date for September, but as you understand, these games often slip because the production times are so difficult to predict due to the amount of work they have to put into them now in high-end consoles. It’s a tough business.”

Out of all the new sequels, the Eidos president is most excited about the next title, which will feature Lara Croft: “The next Tomb Raider, I think, will surprise a lot of people and reinvigorate the franchise. There are some remarkable things we’re doing in the next Tomb Raider to make you say, “Oh Lara, I love you so much!”

What do you think? Are you excited about all these sequels coming from the UK publisher? Leave a comment with your thoughts.
