During Sony's E3 2011 conference, the Japanese company, together with Capcom, confirmed that the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken fighting game will be arriving for the newly unveiled PlayStation Vita and will see an exclusive character appear on all PlayStation platforms, in the form of Infamous 1 and 2 hero Cole MacGrath.
Capcom rocked the fighting game scene last year when it announced that it is partnering with Namco Bandai to release Street Fighter X Tekken, a new game that combines the two extremely popular franchises.
Now, Capcom has revealed that besides appearing for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Street Fighter X Tekken will also be released onto the PlayStation Vita, formerly known as the Next Generation Portable.
What's more, the Playstation 3 and PS Vita versions of the game will see the introduction of a unique playable fighter, in the form of Cole MacGrath, the super-powered protagonist of both Infamous 1 and 2.
He will act as a bonus fighter, in the same way Kratos did with the recent PlayStation 3 edition of the Mortal Kombat fighting game.
Capcom also decided to share some more details about Street Fighter X Tekken, as well as showcase a cinematic video, together with two gameplay ones during E3.
"In Street Fighter X Tekken, the long awaited dream match-up between the two leaders in the fighting genre becomes a reality. Street Fighter X Tekken delivers the ultimate tag team battle royale, featuring classic characters from each franchise and one of the most robust character line-ups in fighting game history."
The game brings lots of features, including the introduction of a tag team system in a Street Fighter game, the famous juggle system, trademark of the Tekken series, as well as a robust online mode running on the Street Fighter IV infrastructure.
Street Fighter X Tekken is scheduled to appear in 2012, but this doesn't mean you can enjoy the screenshots of Cole MacGrath or the videos below.
