The team at BioWare is finally ready to offer more details about the gameplay and the story of the coming Dragon Age: Inquisition, which is set to be launched on the PC, current-gen consoles, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One in late 2014.

The game will focus on the four-way split between the Chantry, the Seekers of Truth, the Templars and the mages, which has led to conflicts across the continent, according to VG247.

Just as the situation was worsening, a tear appears in the sky over Thedas and demons from the Fade start coming in and attacking all other factions indiscriminately.

Gamers will take on the role of an unnamed Inquisitior who needs to solve the mystery of the tear and get the disparate factions to come to an uneasy peace in order to take out the demonic threat.

BioWare says the new Dragon Age will feature a fully voiced protagonist, but that players will have full control over their name, their class, their gender and their general look.

No levels in the game will be recycled, like in Dragon Age 2, and all the areas players will go through will encourage them to explore in order to find more hints about the story and more items that can be used by the party.

The Inquisition will ask gamers to perform missions and certain areas of the map will remain locked until certain goals are met.

The combat is also being re-designed, with enemies getting a number of new behavior based on the tactical situation around them and the skills that players are using.

BioWare says that Inquisition will allow players to choose whether they want to approach battles tactically, as they did in Origins, or from a more action-oriented perspective, as in the sequel.

Major choices made in the coming title will permanently change the game world and will affect the ending that each player reaches.
