A new flavor of the Dolphin Browser HD is now available for download via the Android Market, namely version 5.1, which comes after a long series of beta releases of Dolphin HD v5.0.

When made available, Dolphin HD v5.0 included a series of issues that affected page loading, as well as other aspects of web browsing on mobile phones, and the new version of the application is meant to solve these.

“First of all, we need to say 'Sorry' to our users, especially those who have been suffering from the page loading issue since the release of Dolphin HD v5,” the company notes in a blog post.

“We have been working on this issue since the day we received your feedback. Therefore, we release so many beta versions to make sure that they really solve your problem. Finally, in v5.0.6 beta, things are improved a lot. So today, we release Dolphin HD v5.1 to Android Market.”

As stated above, the new Dolphin HD v5.1 was meant to fix any issues left with page loading, as well as many of the bugs that were found in the previous final release.

The changelog shows that following bugs were fixed as well:

- Some unexpected force close issues - Select text issue on some devices - Can’t double tap to zoom in mobile mode on some devices - Can’t Save image on Droid Incredible - Can’t view some desktop websites on some devices - Clear cookie/history unsuccessfully upon exit on some devices - Can’t set “about:blank” page as homepage - Some other tiny bugs.

Moreover, the company notes that the new Dolphin HD v5.1 comes with a series of other enhancements as well, including the possibility to clear phone cache when choosing to “Cache to SD.”

Other changes would include the ability to return to the original app through hitting the Back button after launching the browser from an external link.

And there is also the change of the ”Set homepage” category into “Dolphin settings” instead of “Data storage settings”.

The mobile browser still has issues with the Bookmark sync with Xmark, but they are working with the team behind Xmarks to resolve it.
