Disney star Demi Lovato has completed a stay in a rehabilitation facility at the end of January this year and, since then, she’s been keeping a very low profile, focusing on her recovery. In a video posted online, she speaks out on rehab, thanking her fans for their constant support.

Demi and her fans share a very special relationship, in that they’ve been with her all along, voicing their support on all channels available, including Twitter and e-mail.

This is precisely why Demi wanted to thank them, because she couldn’t have done it alone. In the video embedded at the end of the article, the star describes her stay in rehab and the months before that as the darkest period of her life.

She’s now at home, resting and taking proper care of herself – but she’s dying to get back to work, she says.

“I wanted to let you know that I am back and home… I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for the support you guys have given me along the way… Your support is what got me through this,” Demi says in the video she made for fans.

She’s been through a lot and she’s positive she couldn’t have done it without the constant outpouring of love and support from fans.

“The journey that I’ve been on has been very difficult over the past few months. I was dealing with issues that I know not only girls just my age but of all ages are dealing with,” Demi explains.

Some day, when she’s fully recovered, Demi will use her own experience to help other girls and women in the same situation.

“I hope to one day raise awareness… so I can help people the way you helped me during this rough time,” she says.

“I can’t tell you how much light you guys brought into my life in probably the darkest time of my life. Without you guys, I wouldn’t be here today… I am excited to get back to work,” Demi adds.
