Late last year, word first got out in the media that Dannii Minogue’s days as judge on the popular televised competition the X Factor were numbered because she had decided to take a break and start a family with her model boyfriend. Dannii has now confirmed the pregnancy but no decision has yet been made as regards her involvement in the upcoming season of the show, though things are not looking good, the Daily Mail has learned.

Reports in the media say that, even before Dannii announced the pregnancy to the public, Simon Cowell was already looking for a replacement for her on X Factor, as much as that might hurt fans of the show and, to some extent, the ratings. On the other hand, it’s not like she could go on the tour of the UK with the auditions while heavily pregnant or immediately after giving birth, which is why her future on the show is looking somewhat bleak right now.

“Dannii Minogue’s future on the X Factor is in doubt, it was confirmed yesterday. The Australian singer, who is pregnant with her first baby, is still waiting to see if she has a job as a judge on the hit ITV show. Miss Minogue, 38, plans to have her baby in Australia in July. She admitted the birth will clash with auditions for the show as they start in June,” the Mail writes after speaking to Dannii herself. For the time being, everything is up in the air.

“When the live auditions will be happening I will be in Australia giving birth, so I’m not being able to do that, unfortunately. There is no way I could give birth and tour around the UK looking for acts for the show. I’ve not quit X Factor and I’d still love to be a part of the live shows further down the line. But that's down to Simon Cowell and the producers really,” Dannii tells the Mail. “I have not quit The X Factor. If possible I would love to be a part of the live shows and continue to fly the Team Minogue flag,” she also writes on Twitter.

At the same time, sources close to the production staff are telling the media that it’s not just Dannii’s participation that is under a huge question mark, as trouble looms on the horizon from other parts as well. Simon Cowell, for instance, is in love and he’s letting that get to his work, while Cheryl Cole is having a very bad time right now, having just announced the separation from husband Ashley, who reportedly cheated on her again.
