According to the latest news around the Internet, Verizon Wireless is set to deliver new software updates for two of its DROID handsets, namely the DROID Incredible and DROID Eris, both of which come from the Taiwan-based handset vendor HTC Corporation. None of the said software updates has been confirmed officially as of yet, but it seems that at least one of them has already started to arrive on devices, namely the on for DROID Eris.

Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless seems set to do all that it is capable of to enhance the experience its users receive. Updating the software of its handsets is one thing that usually results in a better mobile experience, and it seems that the move involving DROID Eris and DROID Incredible is aimed exactly at this. DROID X by Motorola, the latest member of the DROID family, is also slated to taste a software update starting today.

The owners of a DROID Eris on Verizon Wireless' airwaves should be receiving the over-the-air update on their devices any time now. The new solution is reportedly meant to fix the 'Silent Call' issue. “You will get the OTA MR4 soon. It may take a week before the whole customer base has the update but you will get it,” a recent post on Verizon's forums notes. Those who would like to get the update faster should find it available for download here.

As for the new solution for the DROID Incredible, a recent article on Droid-Life states that users should enjoy 720p video recording, the MyVerizon app, updated widgets, a series of bug fixes and more as soon as it arrives. However, the arrival of the update hasn't been confirmed for the time being, and chances are that it might prove to be only a rumor in the end. One of the software updates that would certainly arrive on DROID Incredible should be the Android 2.2 Froyo solution, though there are no specific details available on when it should arrive.
