DROID Incredible by HTC was the third Android-based mobile phone wireless carrier Verizon added to its DROID series, following last year's release of DROID by Motorola and DROID Eris. Even if made available for purchase only about a couple of months ago, the handset seems to have already managed to reach the first position in the most wanted devices list at Verizon. Due to high demand, the DROID Incredible has registered delays at Verizon ever since day one, and it seems that problems continue.

Verizon customers interested in purchase a DROID Incredible from Verizon today would have to wait about a month before receiving their unit. According to the wireless carrier's website, the phone would ship by August 3, but there is no certainly that it won't be pushed back even more. When put on sale in late April, the DROID Incredible shipped with delays of around a week, but the issues with stock widened and Verizon had to delay shipments furthermore, and even announced that users can switch orders to other devices, in case they grew tired of waiting.

In case there are some yet unfamiliar with the stock issues of DROID Incredible, we should mention that the wireless carrier received fewer than expected devices from HTC due to shortages with some components of the device. The main problem was caused by the AMOLED display on Incredible, which is being delivered by Samsung.

Recently, HTC announced that it has found a solution for the issue, and that some of the future DROID Incredible units would pack displays from Sony. According to the mobile phone maker, not only would this solve the existing stock problems with the high-end device, but the models would provide the same experience to end users. However, it seems that it would take a little longer for HTC and Verizon to be able to meet demand for the DROID Incredible. Already a highly appealing device, it should soon taste the Android 2.2 Froyo update, making it even more attractive than before.
