HTC to pack Super LCD displays in future DROID Incredible units

Verizon Wireless seems to have very difficult times when it comes to the HTC DROID Incredible stock. The carrier has delayed the shipping of this high-end mobile phone ever since day one, given the fact that it has been running out of stock with the device starting with the pre-order period, and it seems that these issues have deepen instead of being solved. Based on that, the carrier decided to offer its customers the possibility to change their DROID Incredible orders to a DROID X order, as the latter should arrive on shelves sooner than the former would (or to another handset that might seem suitable).

According to Big Red, the main issues that resulted in DROID Incredible shipments being delayed all the way to the end of July were with certain hardware components supplies, namely with a low stock of displays provided by Samsung. The component maker could not bring more such displays on the market, thus preventing HTC and, consequently, Verizon form delivering ordered DROID Incredible units to their users in due time. As a means to solve the problem, Verizon decided to enable users to choose another high-end Android-based device over the DROID Incredible.

“The Droid Incredible by HTC, as you know, definitely lives up to its name and is a fantastic device. It has proven to be very, very popular with our customers. Should a customer who has ordered a Droid Incredible decide that the Droid X (or any other device) better meets his/her needs, he/she can take advantage of the Verizon Wireless Worry Free Guarantee and choose the Droid X when it goes on sale July 15. Customers cannot pre-order the Droid X with us,” the wireless carrier reportedly stated on the matter, reports UnwiredView.

In case there are some who would not conceive the idea of switching to DROID X, some good news are on their way too. It seems that HTC grew tired of waiting for Samsung to provide the necessary AMOLED screens, and went to Sony to grab some “Super LCD” displays to ramp up DROID Incredible production. It seems that the company would deliver to shelves both models with AMOLED displays from Samsung and devices with Super LCD displays from Sony, and that there would be no visible difference between them.
