Will ship by July 12 if ordered today

Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless seems to have more and more problems when it comes to shipping the Android-based DROID Incredible by HTC to its users. The company experienced stock problems with the Incredible right from the launch day, and things are going from bad to worse, it seems. Verizon customers who would place orders for it today would receive it only by July 12, about one full month from now.

Verizon Wireless CEO Lowell McAdam recently said that the company was forced to “pull way back” on shipments of the device to its retail stores. The reason for this huge delay is once again said to be the shortage of some parts from chip makers, specifically shortages of AMOLED screens from Samsung. Although the problem is more than one month old, it seems that there is no sign that things will get back on track in the near future.

As stated above, the DROID Incredible by HTC has seen shipment delays ever since it was launched on the market. Originally shipping with a delay of about a week, the gap has widened, and users interested in the device would receive their unit only in about a month, at least this is what the carrier's website shows.

One other high-end device at Verizon that might soon see shortages is the DROID by Motorola, Big Red's first high-end Android-based phone. Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha recently stated that the handset was selling great and that the manufacturer had hard times keeping at pace with demand. While the DROID is still in stock at Verizon, in case users choose to leave aside HTC's device and go for Motorola's, things might change here too.

However, with reports that Motorola and Verizon are readying two new DROID models, people might soon start turning their heads towards these new phones, especially since they are rumored to pack a nice range of enhancements over the original DROID. In case DROID Incredible is still your phone of choice, you can order it on Verizon's website here.
