Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has had a lot of issues with keeping one of its latest handsets in stock, namely the Android 2.1-based DROID Incredible. Ever since the phone's launch in late April, the carrier has had it on its website listed with a delayed shipping date, and the problem hasn't been solved as of yet. Those who would like to purchase the appealing handset from the carrier's website today will have to wait until June 17 before receiving their unit, which is a whooping three weeks from now.

According to the company, the issues with DROID Incredible's stock are the result of delays with some of its components, namely with the phone's seven-panel home screen which comes from Samsung. The maker has ramped up production, and the component shortages should be soon addressed, which means that DROID Incredible should come “in stock” in the near future. As for how soon that should happen, Verizon says that the time frame is “the next 30 to 60 days.”

“The Incredible has done very well for us. We could sell twice the number I have at this point,” Verizon Wireless CEO Lowell McAdam said recently, according to fiercewireless. However, having to wait for another 60 days for the stock problems to be solved might not sound too good for many. DROID Incredible has all the chances to out sell the Motorola DROID, launched at Big Red in November last year, as it comes with a speedier processor, Qualcomm's 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, an 8-megapixel photo snapper, and 8GB of internal storage space, coupled with a microSD memory card slot.

While waiting for this handset to become available at Verizon, we should take a look at another DROID phone from HTC, namely Eris, which reportedly has a series of issues ever since the Android 2.1 update was pushed to it. The carrier says that it is already hard at work with delivering a solution for the weather widget issue cased by the update, and that it is also looking into other problems signaled by users (missing call audio and message notification issues, among other). According to Android Authority, DROID Eris owners that experience other issues than those with the widget should head to the nearest Verizon store with the device in their hands.
