14 DAY TRIAL // Amazon, American-based multinational electronic commerce company has listed the hot DROID Incredible as being available for purchase. The company offers the smartphone $529.99 with no service plan, but customers can also choose to get it cheaper by selecting a new plan or extending an already existing Verizon plan.
HTC Droid Incredible boasts an amazing 3.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen with 16 million colors and 480x800 pixel resolution. It also features HTC's Sense UI, multi-touch input method, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn-off and optical trackball. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 2.1 (Eclair) platform.
It packs an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and 2x power LED flash (smile detection, geo-tagging features also included), 512 MB of RAM and 8 GB of internal flash memory, microSD card slot (up to 16 GB), Stereo FM Radio with RDS function and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Verizon version of the handset runs on the CDMA 800/1900 frequencies as well as EV-DO, Rev A 3G frequencies. Communication features include HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 2 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, and GPS with A-GPS support.
Unfortunately, as of now, Amazon ships the device in 1 to 3 weeks, so customers will probably get it at the beginning of August. Further, DROID Incredible is eligible for FREE Two-Day Shipping, which means you won't have to pay for shipping if you choose this feature. The last comment left by one of the Amazon customers that bought the device is dated on 7th July and states that “Amazon shipping was extremely fast, I ordered it one afternoon and received it the next day!”.
This means that we just missed the opportunity to buy the last DROID Incredible smarphone's sold by Amazon. Still, there's a chance that some of the people that really want the device won't be able to get one of the 25,000 DROID's that are said to be in Verizon's stock. That's why I think Amazon could be a valid choice, in case you wish to receive your device at home, instead of going to a Verizon store.
