DROID 2 by Motorola is expected to make an appearance on Verizon Wireless' airwaves in roughly 10 days from now. According to previous rumors on in, August 12 would be the lucky day for enthusiasts, and is seems that the wireless carrier is indeed nearing that launch day at full speed. The latest reports on the matter suggest the company already started training its employees on the upcoming device, which means that it might not be too long before DROID 2 makes it on shelves.

Proof that Big Red started training its employees on the upcoming mobile phone comes from a leaked training guide, which emerged over at Droid-Life. The guide seems to unveil a series of details on the mobile phone too, including the fact that Google's Android 2.2 OS with Adobe Flash Player 10.1 is a go. The DROID 2 by Motorola should be the first device at Verizon to land with Froyo right from the start, though not the first to taste it, since the carrier already kicked off the Android 2.2 update for the original DROID.

According to the leaked training guide, the mobile phone should be powered by a 1 Ghz OMAP processor with dedicated GPU, Wi-Fi connectivity, 3G mobile hotspot capabilities, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with dual LED flash and DVD quality video capture, a 3.7-inch touchscreen display with multi-touch capabilities, a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard, 8GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space (an 8GB card included in the package).

The upcoming mobile phone is also set to land with support for a wide range of services, in addition to including a great deal of pre-installed applications. All in all, the phone should offer a greatly increased experience when compared to the original DROID by Motorola. As stated above, August 12 is the expected release date for the device, though it still remains to be seen whether Verizon and Motorola would indeed announce the device as available then.
