Video game publisher Activision Blizzard has announced that it has released a new pack of songs for DJ Hero 2, including three new tracks coming from the underground of the hip hop movement, giving players more opportunities to create their own musical output by modifying and expanding the already existing songs.

The Indie Hip Hop Mix Pack includes:

- “My World Premiere” from Charizma and Peanut Butter Wolf mixed with “The Red (Instrumental)” by Jaylib; - “Party Hard” by The Perceptionists ft. Guru and Camu Tao mixed with “Ghostwriter” from RJD2; - “The Best Day” by Atmosphere as remixed by FSG.

Those who are interested can head to the Xbox Live Marketplace to pick up the Indie Hip Hop Mix Pack for the price of 640 Microsoft Points or to the PlayStation Store, where the price is set at 7.99 dollars.

On the Nintendo Wii, the same tracks can only be bought individually and gamers will have to pay 300 Wii Points for each of them.

DJ Hero 2 was launched in 2010 and expands on the concepts introduced by the first game in the series, allowing players to learn how to scratch and mix while listening to music produced specifically for the game and then allowing them to get creative and modify all the included tracks using their own ideas about rhythm and mixing.

DJ Hero 2 can be played using the deck sold with the first game and allows players to engage in duels as long as two mix decks are available.

In early 2011 Activision has said that this year it will not be launching any new video games that are linked to the Guitar Hero brand, suggesting that the market for music simulation games was already too crowded.

The company said that for a while both Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and DJ Hero 2 will be getting new content via downloadable content.
