Video game publisher Activision Blizzard has announced a new nine-song downloadable content package that is coming to Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, including some of the best rock songs launched in the past few years, with one Grammy winner included.

Here are the songs which will be delivered via the Modern Rock Mega Pack:

“Sorrow” from Bad Religion “Sic Transit Gloria... Glory Fades” by Brand New “She's A Genius” sung by Jet “Supermassive Black Hole” from Muse “Psycho” by Puddle Of Mudd “Little Sister” from Queens Of The Stone Age “Always” by Saliva “Hands Open” sung by Snow Patrol “Headstrong” from Trapt

Gamers who are interested in getting more songs for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock can download the new DLC from the Xbox Live Marketplace for the price of 1320 Microsoft Points or they can head to the PlayStation Store and pay 16.49 dollars.

On the Nintendo Wii the pack costs 1650 Wii Points.

Those who just want to pick up one track can expect to pay 160 Microsoft Points, 200 Wii Points or 1.99 dollars.

After announcing its financial results for the last quarter of 2010 Activision Blizzard has said that it is stopping development on the Guitar Hero franchise and that no new game linked to it would be delivered during this year.

The company also said that already created downloadable content for DJ Hero 2 and for Warriors of Rock will be launched during March but that there are no future plans for more content.

The music genre has long been in decline and Harmonix, the developer of rival series Rock Band, has been sold to an investment firm a short while before development on Guitar Hero was stopped.

Harmonix has said that it will continue putting out content for both Rock Band and Dance Central.
