Activision, in a rather surprising move, has announced that DLC support for its Guitar Hero and DJ Hero franchises will continue to appear in the next few months, despite the two series being axed by the company.

Activision made a lot of money with the Guitar Hero and DJ Hero franchises, but, in the last couple of years, things were going from bad to worse.

As such, at the beginning of the month, Activision announced that it would no longer develop new games in both series and that the downloadable content scheduled for release in February will be the last one ever launched.

Now, it seems that the giant video games publisher has had a change of heart, as both the Guitar Hero Facebook page and the Twitter one for DJ Hero have published new announcements about new content for the games released in the respective franchises.

According to them, both Guitar Hero and DJ Hero games will be getting new DLC tracks in the near future, thanks to the massive fan support.

"Thank you for being a part of this community and all 3 Million of you rock! In thanks for your continued support, we've decided to celebrate by releasing some more downloadable content. Details coming soon," read the Guitar Hero Facebook page.

A similar statement appeared on the DJ Hero Twitter page, saying that, "Thanks for being a member of our community. In recognition of your continued support, we've decided to release more DLC! Details soon!"

It seems that even if sales aren't at the same level as a few years ago, fans are still eager to spend their money on new tracks for the games they already have.

As such, Activision's decision to support the games makes a lot of sense.

Expect more details about new Guitar Hero and DJ Hero DLC in the following weeks.
