Silent computing has become increasingly important in the last couple of years thanks to a wide series of companies who have released quieter hardware components, and now Cooler Master wants to do its part with the introduction of the Silent Pro Hybrid line of power supply units.

The new PSU series gets its name from the fact that the units can run completely fanless when the system is in idle mode or when the the tasks run don't demand high amounts of power.

The PSU will continue to function in this mode until the machine draws more than 200W of power, as, at this point, a safe mode will activate the fan and cool according to the level of the load.

Furthermore, Cooler Master also ships the Silent Pro Hybrid power supply units with a fan controller that can be installed inside a free 5.25-inch drive bay.

This direct connection between PSU and fan controller provides the user with immediate on-the-fly adjustment for the 135mm Super Silent Hydraulic Bearings power supply fan and up to 3 other system fans.

The power and system fan speeds are adjusted independently via two dials and CM customers also have the option of switching between an automatic and a manual mode.

Outside of its low-noise capabilities, the Silent Pro Hybrid was also fine tuned to provide high energy-efficiency and has gained a Gold rating from the 80PLUS organization.

All the Cooler Master power supplies in this series are equipped with modular cables and feature a single 12V high-capacity rail, which is able to provide between 70A and 105A of current.

The Silent Pro Hybrid Series includes 850W, 1050W, and 1300W models and should already be available for purchase. Pricing for the new PSUs has been set at $199.99 (€150), $249.99 (€187), and $299.99 (€225), respectively.
