Demoed for the very first time at the Computex 2011 fair, Thermaltake's high-powered Toughpower XT PSU series will finally become available for purchase later this month, announced the company in a press release.

The three new models have a wattage of 1275W, 1375W, and 1475W, but all of these feature similar specifications as well as a dual 12V rails.

When combined, the rails can deliver enough output current to feed even the most power hungry desktop systems built around six or eight-core processors or multi-graphics cards configurations, like AMD's CrossFireX and Nvidia's SLI.

Outside of the high output currents available, Thermaltake's new Toughpower XT power supply units also bring a series of new features, like the so called S.P.T. indicator which is used to display the standby mode, the “power good” signal, and the temperature of your PSU.

In addition, Thermaltake states that only high-quality components were used in these new power supply models, including 105°C Japanese made solid state capacitors, a full bridge & LLC resonance circuit, and heavy-gauge 16 AWG high current cable PCI Express connectors.

All these are kept cool by a 140mm fan, with support for the FanDelayCool technology. This was designed to keep the fan running 15-30 seconds after the system is shut off in order to allow for the PSU to cool down and to prolong the life of the components found inside it.

Just like most other high-performance power supplies, the new Toughpower XT units also come with 80PLUS certification, the 1375W and 1475W PSUs featuring a Gold rating, while the 1275W model received an 80PLUS Platinum certification.

No details about the price of the three power supplies were made public by Thermaltake, but expect them to cost a pretty penny. (via TCMagazine)
