Timothy Williams, a composer who has been working on the orchestration of the recent Halloween remake and is also working with Valve on the score of the upcoming DOTA 2, has listed God of War IV as another project that he is composing music for.

A statement from Sony delivers the usual line, saying that, “We do not comment on rumors or speculation about our products.”

Timothy Williams then went on to confirm to Joystiq that the uncovered listing is accurate and that at the moment he is “working on it in the capacity of orchestrations and some additional music” and then clarified the fact that Tyler Bates should be listed as being the main composer working on the project.

The composer offered no other information on the God of War IV project and Sony has also failed to officially announce the project, despite the fact that the company has been hiring for it and a number of rumors about the game have been appearing since early 2011.

It seems that the beginning of 2012 is a good period for God of War IV rumors as just yesterday a source which claimed to have access to game information inside the Santa Monica studio that has long been in charge of the franchise claimed that the new game would have an all new cooperative multiplayer game mode.

Players would need to use the PlayStation Network to connect with another gamer and the two controlled characters are set to be Kratos himself and his long dead brother Deimos, which seems to be brought back to life during God of War IV.

God of War III was a big hit for Sony on the PlayStation 3 and the company might get ready to deliver one last hurrah for its current home console, launching it in late 2012 or early 2013.

There’s also the possibility that God of War IV is being prepared as a launch title for the next home console from the company.
