The first couple of days of Comic-Con 2011 were packed with surprises for Twi-hards. Not only did they get to see their favorite actors – Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner – live, but they were also treated with the first character posters for “Breaking Dawn.”

As we also noted late last week, the three put in an appearance with director Bill Condon at the panel discussion, taking questions from the media about the upcoming installment in “The Twilight Saga,” the one before the last.

At the same time, Summit also introed the first character posters for the film: as expected, of Edward, Bella and Jacob.

Since it’s still many months to go until the film is out in theaters, Summit is making sure it doesn’t reveal too much – but enough to keep fans coming back for more.

As such, the posters reveal absolutely nothing about the film, except that they’re new photos of the three actors in character. Then again, that should be enough for true fans.

If not, then the interviews the three (plus Condon) gave during their stay at the San Diego convention should keep them going until November 18, when the film is scheduled for theatrical release in the US.

Among the topics up for discussion at the panel were, of course, the wedding scene and the birth scene in the upcoming installment.

While all four stars strove to keep details about either to a minimum, they did promise a few things that author Stephenie Meyer did not include in the original novel, the last in the “Twilight” series, which is being released as two separate films.

“We did try to go as hard-core as we could,” Stewart told the audience. “The birth scene was phenomenal,” Lautner chimed in, adding that Condon surely had his work cut out for him with it.

As noted above, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1” is out on November 18, 2011.
