On Wednesday, leading provider of wireless broadband services Clearwire Corporation announced the nationwide availability of two 4G/Wi-Fi personal mobile hotspots, namely the CLEAR Spot 4G and CLEAR Spot 4G+. According to the company, the two handsets are available both i-stores and online on its website, and it already started to fill pre-orders for them.

“The CLEAR Spot 4G and CLEAR Spot 4G+ bring super fast speeds and 4G connectivity to Wi-Fi enabled laptops, netbooks, smartphones, portable gaming and other connected devices – without the worries or hassles of tiered or capped data usage plans,” the wireless services provider stated. The company's 4G network is based on the WiMAX standard.

The CLEAR Spot 4G comes to the market as a personal mobile hotspot that can offer easy and secure sharing of connectivity with up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices, so that one can enjoy Internet access via the CLEAR 4G network anywhere where coverage is available.

As for the CLEAR Spot 4G+, we should note that it can offer continuous connectivity across the United States to all travelers, due to the fact that it was designed to automatically switch and connect to Sprint’s 3G nationwide network in areas where the 4G service is not available. According to the company, the CLEAR Spot 4G+ hotspot offers simultaneous connectivity to a number of up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices.

The CLEAR Spot 4G is available for purchase at a price of $99.99, but users can also choose to lease it for $4.99 a month. The CLEAR service plans start at $40 per month, the company added. The CLEAR Spot 4G+ mobile hotspot can be purchased from Clearwire for a price tag of $224.99, or it can be leased for $5.99 a month. The device is available with CLEAR service plans that start at $55 per month. Both the CLEAR Spot 4G and the CLEAR Spot 4G+ mobile hotspots are available for purchase via CLEAR retail stores and authorized dealers around the United States, as well as online on Clearwire's website.
