Clearwire Communications, LLC, an operating subsidiary of Clearwire Corporation, the provider of the largest 4G network in the United States, announced today a series of enhancements brought to its CLEAR 4G network in Austin. According to the company, the improvements were made in anticipation of the thousands of visitors that will arrive in Austin for the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) festival.

As most of you might already know, the CLEAR 4G network is capable of offering high-speed Internet access to tech-savvy fans, while eliminating all the hassle that 3G networks come with, and which most of them already experienced at the popular music, film and interactive festival in the past years. Not to mention that visitors will also be offered the possibility to experience the latest in mobile gaming technology from CLEAR and Dell/Intel/Alienware at the Festival Village.

“This year’s festival goers can experience the full benefits of a truly mobile 4G broadband network, unlike in past years where the only available 3G networks were bogged down by increased volume generated by the influx of so many people to the Austin area,” said Keith Kay, director of regional sales and distribution for Clearwire in Texas. “In contrast, the CLEAR 4G network allows for much faster speeds and a richer customer experience as demonstrated in the mobile studios.”

According to Clearwire, those who will visit this year's SXSW festival will be able to experience life in 4G in CLEAR mobile showrooms set to arrive in Austin on March 17-20. The carrier also notes that the showrooms are outfitted as mobile studios and that they will include live musical performances, webcasting and gaming, all of which are delivered through CLEAR’s super fast mobile Internet technology. Moreover, laptops, Dell/Intel/Alienware video games, and webcasting equipment will also be there, the company states.

In addition, the company notes that the CLEAR Mobile Studio is set to host a series of bands and bloggers who will perform live and unplugged on the streets of Austin. The carrier will broadcast all performers live over the CLEAR 4G network. Those interested in a live feed of the action should head here.
