Casio brought quite a few interesting surprises at CES 2011, one of them being the device you'll read about as follows, namely the latest addition to the company's EXILIM HI-ZOOM series, the 16.1 megapixel EX-H30 digital camera. The compact EX-H30 digital camera from Casio packs 24mm-300mm (35mm equivalent) focal length lens with 12.5X optical zoom, that however, can be pushed even further with the help of Casio's Single Frame SR Zoom technology.

The compact digital camera also leverages Casio’s Slide Panorama technology and comes equipped with a 16.1 megapixel CCD with Casio’s sensor-shift technology, accompanied by the EXILIM ENGINE 5.0 and super-resolution technology.

The device also offers 720p high-definition video recording with continuous auto-focus and a three-inch LCD display (460k resolution).

Another interesting detail worth mentioning about the new EX-H30 digital camera from Casio is the fact that it comes equipped with a high-capacity, rechargeable lithium ion battery (NP-130), that can be used for taking up to 1,000 photos with just one full charge.

“Optics and battery performance are two qualities which should be top of mind for any consumer in the market for a camera to take with them while traveling or on vacation, and the new H30 excels in both areas,” said Toshi Iguchi, Senior General Manager, Digital Imaging Division, Casio America Inc.

“Whether you’re near or far, the H30’s powerful zoom and ultra-wide angle lens will help you capture the image you want, while the camera’s exceptional battery performance will allow you to focus on capturing those memories rather than worrying about running out of power or the need to recharge,” added Mr. Iguchi.

The Casio EXILIM HI-ZOOM EX-H30 digital camera is set to go on sale in March 2011 for $249.99 and will be available in four colors, including silver, black, red, and gold.
