Creating a camera that can adapt and change its shape depending on the user's needs seems to be quite a good idea, and that's exactly what Casio probably thought when designing and developing the TRYX variable frame design camcorder, that has just been revealed at CES 2011. Without a doubt, what really makes this camcorder stand out from the crowd is its super-versatile form factor, users being able to, for example, hold the camera horizontally or flip out the touch-screen LCD, while the frame can even be rotated at 360 degrees and adjusted in such a manner as to help the body act, for all intents and purposes, as a tripod (and the list of possibilities is actually a whole lot longer).

Beside its adaptive frame design, the TRYX camera from Casio also offers users very good imaging options, as it comes packed with a 12.1 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor, accompanied byu the EXILIM ENGINE HS and a 21mm ultra-wide-angle lens is featuring Casio’s state-of-the-art High-Speed SR Zoom technology.

Naturally, the TRYX is able to record full HD 1080p videos, but also still images and even sports a Sweep Panorama function, as well as numerous other image-enhancement options.

Last, but certainly not least, we'll also have to mention that the device comes equipped with a 3.0-inch TFT color touchscreen LCD display (Super Clear LCD), with a 460,800 dots (960 x 480 pixels) resolution.

“TRYX truly is a remarkable camera and its announcement is a defining moment for Casio,” said Toshi Iguchi, Senior General Manager, Digital Imaging Division, Casio America Inc.

“Unlike anything the industry has ever seen, TRYX brings unparalleled innovation and versatility straight to consumers’ hands with a radical new design. This is a camera which was designed specifically to meet the needs of the creative and connected consumer, looking for a unique digital imaging experience and a camera to compliment their lifestyle and personality,” concluded Mr. Iguchi.

Now, if you're really curious to see the TRYX in action for yourselves, you should know that the device is slated to become available in April 2011 for $249.99.
