Canon has made quite a few announcements today, from the latest entry-level Rebel T5 / 1200D DSLR and high-end G1 X Mark II compact shooter to the SX700 HS superzoom and D30 waterproof camera.

Besides all these new models, the Nippon manufacturer has also introduced three new ELPH point-and-shoot compact cameras (ELPH 150 IS, ELPH 140 IS, and ELPH 135) that will take the place of the last A-series budget models in Canon's current camera lineup.

Canon PowerShot ELPH 150 IS comes with a 20MP CCD image sensor and 10x optical zoom lens, all packed in a small camera body. The new ELPH model also features Intelligent IS that automatically optimizes image stabilization in various shooting conditions, using eight different presets.

Canon PowerShot ELPH 140 IS features a smaller 16MP CCD sensor as well as a smaller 8x optical zoom lens, but packs the Intelligent IS feature as the aforementioned model, giving you enhanced image stability when the situation demands it.

Finally, the cheaper PowerShot ELPH 135 comes with the same 16MP CCD sensor and 8x optical zoom lens as the ELPH 140 IS compact camera model, but lacks the advanced Intelligent IS image stabilization option.

"These new PowerShot ELPH cameras are ideal for those individuals who realize that their everyday moments are worth capturing on a dedicated digital camera that delivers stunning image quality," said Yuichi Ishizuka, executive vice president and general manager, Imaging Technologies & Communications Group, Canon U.S.A.

All three Canon PowerShot ELPH compact digital cameras will be available starting this month at a price of $149.99 / €110 for the ELPH 150 IS (blue, red, silver, or black), $129.99 / €95 for the ELPH 140 IS (gray and red), and $119.99 / €88 for the ELPH 135 model (black, silver, red, and purple).
