Activision is currently the biggest video game publisher in the world, owning franchises like the hugely successful Guitar Hero. But one of the biggest money-makers for the large corporation is its Call of Duty series.

With the title having registered critical and commercial acclaim thanks to Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the company is expecting a huge amount of money due to the release of its direct sequel, Modern Warfare 2, this fall, onto all three major platforms, the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

But don't think that this will mean any other platforms will skip the Modern Warfare 2 goodness, as Activision, undoubtedly swayed by the popularity of the DS, has just announced that n-Space Studios is currently working on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized, which will be reaching the small Nintendo handheld this fall, alongside its older brother.

Promising adventures filled with an arsenal of high-end weaponry, vehicles and tactics, this version of Modern Warfare 2 will have players navigate dangerous battlefields. Using the control scheme of the DS, they will have to fight in building-to-building scenarios, hack into enemy computers, and take control of military vehicles, from tanks to UAV spy drones and even the AC-130 gunship.

A unique storyline set in the Modern Warfare universe will also be included, but features like six-player online multiplayer mode will definitely make it that much more interesting for DS owners. Also, the fact that a new Survival Mode will be introduced, which will see players fend off waves of enemies by using various weapons, will make it a must-have for any CoD fan who owns a DS.

Overall, this is definitely going to sell a lot of copies, given the big number of DS owners out there, and will only add another stack to the huge amount of money Activision is currently making.
