Activision has revealed that it will be kicking off the first round of original programming for its Call of Duty Elite online service today, in the form of the Friday Night Fights, in which members of the U.S. Army and Navy will duke it out on the virtual battlefield of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Even if anyone can be a Call of Duty Elite member, if they get past the array of problems and issues the service has been experiencing in recent weeks, Activision also sells a premium membership that brings extra features, including access to original Call of Duty-themed content.

We heard some months ago that famous Hollywood producer Ridley Scott, of Aliens fame, will be making such content, but now we’re finally getting to check it out, as Activision confirmed that Friday Night Fights, a series of shows that focus on real life rivalries fought in virtual environments, starts today, November 25.

The first edition will see the members of the U.S. Army and Navy settle their ‘grudge match’ in a series of multiplayer matches of Modern Warfare 3, the latest game in the extremely successful shooter series.

"Executive produced by Ridley Scott and Tony Scott's RSA Films, and director RJ Cutler, Friday Night Fights lets real life rivals settle their differences Call of Duty style via epic multiplayer battles in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.”

According to Activision, this is just the beginning in terms of original programming, so expect more such shows to appear, only for Call of Duty Elite premium members.

"When you're working with the likes of executive producers Ridley Scott and Tony Scott, the production values don't get any higher,” Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said. “And the Call of Duty community deserves nothing less. We want to give people new ways to connect with the game they love. That's what Call of Duty Elite is about, and Friday Night Fights is just the beginning."

Lots of people will get to enjoy this program, as Elite registered more than 1 million subscriptions since its release earlier this month. Hopefully, the service will remain stable and Activision will be able to deliver a great experience to its customers.

The first edition of Friday Night Fights airs at noon, PST, and will be available for replay after that via Internet streaming.
