Modern Warfare 3 players shouldn't be too worried, according to the company

Activision has revealed that it's "making good headway" into solving all the issues that have plagued its Call of Duty Elite online service since the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 earlier this week.

Modern Warfare 3 was expected by millions of gamers from all around the world, with the number of pre-orders dwarfing even the total sales of many triple-A games that were released earlier this year.

Sadly, while the global launch went off without a hitch, even if many players weren't thrilled with the actual game, things didn't go so well for the Call of Duty Elite online service.

In case you don't remember, Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer is supposed to be enriched by Elite, which provides options for stat tracking, social networking and competitions to players.

Many players that wanted to get into Elite were met with a series of errors, however, as the service was swamped by the millions of people who wanted to access it.

After releasing several statements about the condition of Call of Duty Elite, Activision has now revealed that it's making progress and things should get back to normal soon enough.

"We are being challenged by a response beyond any of our expectations on day one," Activision Digital's vice president Jamie Berger told Kotaku. "But we're making good headway," he went on to assure gamers, saying that Activision has managed to increase the number of gamers that are able to sign up for the service simultaneously."

"This is like that terrible birthing pains any new online service goes through," he added.

Activision reminded Modern Warfare 3 players that even if they couldn't register for Elite accounts, their activity is still tracked and data will be ready for them when they actually do connect to the service.

Have the Call of Duty Elite problems affected your Modern Warfare 3 experience or did you just continue playing like any of the previous Call of Duty games?
