Beachhead, the studio behind the Call of Duty Elite online service, has made a new announcement, saying that the registration problems encountered by players who are trying to connect to Elite doesn't mean that their statistics aren't being tracked.

As you've no doubt heard, Call of Duty Elite, the online service offered by Activision to enrich the multiplayer mode in the recently released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, is buckling under the pressure of millions of gamers trying to connect to it and try out its features.

In an effort to soothe the legions of Call of Duty fans, Beachhead, the studio behind the service, has made a statement concerning Elite and the errors that are plaguing it during its release.

"Registration requests for our new live service Call of Duty Elite are exceeding even our most optimistic expectations, which is creating a bottleneck and some players have not been able to register," the announcement said. "We have already registered hundreds of thousands of players and we are working around the clock to increase our capacity as quickly as possible."

Customers shouldn't worry about not being able to access their stats, as Elite is still monitoring the data and the statistics from their current gaming sessions.

"Please be assured your gameplay data is safe and that whenever you successfully register for Call of Duty Elite, all of your data will be waiting for you. So enjoy the game, start ranking up and we assure you we are working around the clock to accommodate every player who wants to be a part of Call of Duty Elite as quickly as possible."

Call of Duty Elite is currently available just for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Modern Warfare 3, as the PC edition is being delayed because the team at Beachhead wants to make it extra secure and reliable.

Given the problems encountered by Elite right now, expect the developers to take even more precautions in order to avoid them when releasing the service for the PC.
