Britney Spears may regain the financial and personal independence she had before put under conservatorship as it will be terminated in a maximum of 3 months, it has emerged.

Following a series of very public and very embarrassing meltdowns, Britney was put under conservatorship, with her father calling all the shots, in 2008.

Two years later, the star has made remarkable progress, staged a comeback with a hit album and a very successful tour, and gotten her personal life back in order.

Though reports about the judge calling off the conservatorship and declaring Britney a free woman again have surfaced in the media before, Radar Online says this time it’s the real deal.

Sources close to the matter say for the publication that the singer will probably see the conservatorship end in a maximum of 3 years, which can’t but be great news for her.

“Britney has made tremendous progress in the past three to four months. She seems to be firmly in control again,” one such source reveals for Radar.

On Thursday morning, Spears and Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz met privately to assess the situation and, as per the same e-zine, things are looking up for the singer.

“Judge Goetz needed to meet with Britney and talk to her face-to-face, to see how she was doing,” dishes the same – unnamed but reportedly very reliable – spy.

The meeting, it would seem, was crucial in determining that Britney was well and that she no longer needed her father to oversee her finances, her career and even aspects of her personal life.

“It’s one thing to read medical reports about her, but the in-person meeting was very important,” the insider explains.

“There will be a hearing for the conservatorship to end. This won’t be done in secret. There is nothing to hide, everyone just wants to be cautious that it’s the right time, and all signs seem to indicate that it is,” the spy goes on to say.

And that’s not the only good news for today, because the same insider also has the deets on the singer’s upcoming album, the one she’s been working on intensely as of late.

“Britney also will be releasing an album in 2011, and there are other projects in the works. Britney knows that she came close to losing everything before, and she doesn’t want that to happen again,” the spy says.
