A few days ago, the Internet went abuzz with talk of how singer Britney Spears had gotten three brand new tattoos on her neck. It turns out they were fake.

As we also informed you at the time, the pop star went out shopping with longtime beau Jason Trawick and, at point, simply emerged with the etchings on her neck.

They looked like little bows or butterflies and were pink and blue. Given the singer’s love for body art, not few ruled out the possibility that they were temporary.

As it turns out, they were wrong, as the Daily Mail can confirm. Britney went shopping again and in neither of the photos just released can the tattoos be seen.

“Britney was pictured today, accompanied by her bodyguards, shopping up a storm Santa Monica’s upmarket Montana Avenue,” the Mail says in the article accompanying the shots.

As she did before as well, the singer arrived wearing one outfit and left the store wearing a newly-purchased one, which looked a bit like a nightie.

“She spent around 45 minutes in the Only Hearts boutique, where she arrived in her denims, trainers and cardigan,” says the same publication.

“But it was a far raunchier Britney who emerged, with her minders seen carrying her bags,” the Mail adds. Britney left in the aforementioned nightie, blue leather boots and the same cardigan.

In other Britney Spears-related news and rumors, it turns out that the star may be an independent woman again in no less than 3 months.

Word around the web has it that a judge is to revision Britney’s conservatorship and, because of all the progress she’s made recently, reinstate her in control of her life.

“Britney has made tremendous progress in the past three to four months. She seems to be firmly in control again,” a source told Radar, as we also informed you the other day.

“There will be a hearing for the conservatorship to end. This won’t be done in secret. There is nothing to hide, everyone just wants to be cautious that it’s the right time, and all signs seem to indicate that it is,” the same spy dished.
