Report says Naomie Harris has been offered a part in 23rd James Bond film with Daniel Craig
Report says Naomie Harris has been offered a part in 23rd James Bond film with Daniel Craig

The 23rd James Bond film is finally happening, after quite a long hiatus and a brief while when fans were told the end of the franchise had come. Producers will introduce a sidekick to Daniel Craig’s 007 spy and she will reportedly be played by Naomie Harris.

For those to whom the name doesn’t ring a bell, Harris has also made significant appearances in “Pirates of the Caribbean” 2 and 3, “Ninja Assassin” and “28 Days Later.”

She is now being sought out for the much-coveted role of Bond girl, reports originating in the British tab News of the World would have it.

Nevertheless, this is not the only media outlet to say that she’s been approached for a part in the upcoming Bond installment, Screenrant writes.

“Both EW and IndieWire have since confirmed (via their own sources) what the tabloid News of the World originally reported: That Harris is being considered for a role in next year’s installment,” the movie-oriented e-zine says.

It could be that Harris will play a Bond girl – but there is also a very good chance that she’s being offered a different role.

“It ought to be noted, though, that Harris has not yet confirmed whether she has (or plans to) accept said part – or if she’s actually up for another role entirely. At this point, it’s even possible she’s up for the onetime rumored female villain part in the film,” Screenrant says.

Whichever part she’s offered (and accepts), she would do it justice: Harris is both extremely good looking and very talented to pull off any part producers may have in mind for her.

So far, no other actor has been signed for the Bond film that will come out in 2012, other than Daniel Craig.

Craig’s current girlfriend Rachel Weisz was at one point rumored to be up for a part, while word onlilne had it that both Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem had been approached for the role of the villain.
