If it was meant to be a secret, the cat is out of the bag now: in a recent interview, Dame Judi Dench gave away some details about the upcoming “James Bond” film, which arrives in theaters sometime in 2012.

The actress, who plays MI 6 boss M in the films, was doing a public appearance at Hever Castle in Kent when she accidentally gave away the date when production on the upcoming installment starts, the Daily Mail reports.

No one from the studio has yet confirmed the date but since Dench is not the type to be playing tricks on the media and fans, it’s safe to say it’s almost a given.

“I am going to do the next Bond in November,” the 76-year-old actress told reporters, as per the aforementioned British publication.

“I don’t know the location yet but hopefully it will be somewhere nice. I can’t tell you much more but I do enjoy playing ‘M’ as she is such a strong character,” Dench added.

“I like being bossy and my grandson thinks it’s cool that I’m in Bond,” she further said.

For a very long time, it was believed that the 23rd Bond film would never be made, after MGM filed for bankruptcy and put the project on “indefinite hold.”

Soon after that, speculation starting making the rounds that too long a wait would eventually kill the film’s chances at the box office because fans would forget about it if it took too long to arrive to the big screen.

Leading man Daniel Craig himself often spoke about his desire to reprise the part, saying that he was ready to go back to work whenever producers wanted him.

Eventually, good news came in January this year, when the 23rd film was scheduled for a tentative release date for 2012.

Since then, Daniel Craig and Judi Dench have worked together once more, reprising their roles (of sorts) for an equality PSA meant to show that, in reality, gender inequality was still very much in place all over the world, as we also told you at the time.
