Last week, during the BlackBerry World 2011 conference in Orlando, Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion announced the availability of a load of new features and applications for devices running under its BlackBerry platform, and video demos of some of them are now available for your viewing pleasure.

Some of the novelties that BlackBerry users would enjoy are related to the BBM social platform, and would arrive on devices through applications designed to leverage it.

In the first video embedded below, you will be able to have a look at the upcoming foursquare for BlackBerry smartphones application, which features integration with BBM.

The video is available courtesy of RIM's Inside BlackBerry d, and was shot during the aforementioned conference. The video features Senior Director of Developer Relations (and Inside BlackBerry blogger) Mike Kirkup.

The second video is meant to offer a glimpse at what the ScoreMobile for BlackBerry application is all about.

Also demoed during the BlackBerry World conference, the application comes from Five Mobile, which is “leveraging the BBM social platform to make sports fandom a more social experience via status updates and BBM chat.”

“Not only does this provide an enhanced user experience (half of the fun of sports is talking about them with friends, right?) but it means that developers can make their apps that much stickier using the BBM social platform,” a post on the BlackBerry developer blog reads.

The third and last video below is meant to provide some details on the AccuWeather for BlackBerry application.

For those out of the loop, we should note that RIM is touting some of the software for the BlackBerry platform as being Super Apps, being aimed at expanding the functionality of usual applications.

The video features Mike from Xtreme Labs showing how a weather application can add Super Apps characteristics to become a great tool for mobile phone users.
