Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion seems indeed set to bring to the market a new Storm device, namely the BlackBerry Storm 9570, a mobile phone that already emerged into the wild before, and which can be admired in a new set of leaked photos.

The new smartphone is expected to arrive on shelves as the successor of Blackberry Storm 2, also known as BlackBerry 9550, thus the “9570” model number attached to it.

However, little is known on the actual name under which RIM would plan on releasing the device on the market.

Rumor has it that this is not the actual Storm 3 smartphone we were all expecting to hear about from RIM, but merely a sequel to the Storm 2, which might arrive on shelves as Storm 2.5.

A closer look at the newly leaked photos with the mobile phone, which emerged into the wild on BBLeaks, will show that the handset sports a similar look with the currently available Storm2 9520/9550.

According to the news site, the new device will comes with some upgraded hardware inside, though only minor upgrades, meant to enable it better handle the new BlackBerry 6 OS from RIM.

Moreover, they note that the BlackBerry Storm 2 handsets out there won't receive an upgrade to the new OS flavor due to the fact that its RAM can not handle it properly.

It appears that the older handset model comes with 256MB of memory, which is too little to put together its touchscreen display and the new BlackBerry 6 OS.

However, the new Storm device, model 9570, comes to the market without this limitation, while being powered by the new OS version right from the start.

Some other specs of the new device include the fact that it would have the same hardware components as the older Storm 2 (thus the SurePress screen, and now the new touch display on Torch), though with upgraded memory, and processor.
