Recently, Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion has announced the release of a new smartphone on the market in India, namely the BlackBerry Bold 9780, the latest device it added to its Bold series of devices.

The new BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone sports the popular design on all other Bold handsets, while packing enhanced hardware specs, so as to offer an enhanced experience to all of its users.

According to the leading handset vendor, the new device packs an incredibly easy-to-use keyboard and optical trackpad, as well as great communication features inside.

Not to mention that it runs under the new BlackBerry 6 operating system, which adds a nice range of new features into the mix as well.

“BlackBerry smartphones are very well received in India and we are pleased to be working with our partners to launch the new BlackBerry Bold 9780 in the Indian market,” said Frenny Bawa, Managing Director, India, RIM.

“We believe that customers will be extremely impressed with the enhanced user interface and exciting new features available with the BlackBerry 6 operating system.”

The BlackBerry Bold 9780 sports a compact design, while including support for 3G networks, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and GPS receiver to enable location-based applications and geo-tagging.

The specifications list of the new device also includes a 5-megapixel photo snapper, which also sports continuous auto focus, scene modes,flash and video recording capabilities.

512 MB of Flash memory were included into the mix as well, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32 GB of additional storage space.

At the same time, the new mobile phone comes with a fast WebKit-based browser with fluid navigation, which offers tabbed browsing and more.

Integrated access to BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), Facebook, Twitter, MySpace was included with the device too, as well as universal search and a dedicated YouTube app.

RIM did not offer specific details on when the Bold 9780 smartphone would be hitting shelves, nor on the price tag it might feature when made available.
