If you have been keeping a close eye on the hardware sector you surely noticed this last week has been full of Sandy Bridge news, from leaks and official release dates to motherboards preview and pictorials, and now it's time to find out more about Intel's second generation Core i7 and Core i5 processors, courtesy of Biostar.

This latest leak was brought to our attention by the CPU World website that noticed Biostar published a CPU support list for their LGA 1155 motherboards, this list including a number of Core i5 and Core i7 Sandy Bridge based processors, together with their frequency, FSB speed and Thermal Design Power (TDP) characteristics.

As a result we now know the names of no less than nine Sandy Bridge processors, six of the disclosed models belonging to the Core i5 line while the other three come as Core i7 offerings.

Taking a closer look at the list reveals a wide assortment of processors, ranging from 45W to 95W in power consumption, the Core i5 2500T coming as the most power efficient efficient CPU available as this 2.3GHz processor can make do with only 45W of power.

The top performance spot is claimed by the Core i7 2600K and 2600 CPUs that come with 3.4GHz clock speed and an TDP of 95W.

In the Core i5 line, the 2500K comes as the most powerful solution available, this 3.3 GHz offerings featuring an 95W TDP, similar to that of the 2600 Core i7 chips.

This latest news comes just two days after we reported on yet another leak that named some of Intel's upcoming low-voltage Core i7 and Core i5 mobile offerings, so the second generation Core i3 chips remains Intel's best kept Sandy Bridge secret yet, although I am willing to bet it won't take too much for these to come out in the open too.
