14 DAY TRIAL // A short while ago, one of the most unexpected announcements in showbiz in recent years was made: Kimberly Stewart was pregnant with her first child, with actor Benicio del Toro. A new report suggests that Benicio is far from thrilled with the new arrival in his life.
The two dated only briefly some time ago and, on one of their casual encounters, the child was conceived. Kimberly has decided to keep it.
Early reports suggested that Kim’s dad, iconic singer Rod Stewart, was very unhappy that she’d choose motherhood even before getting married and having a solid career.
The latest print issue of Star magazine (story via here) is now saying that he’s not the only one to feel this way about Kimberly keeping the child.
Benicio too doesn’t like the idea of Kim as a mother, but for entirely different reasons than Rod: he really didn’t think that a fling would lead to him becoming a father.
“Benicio was not happy about the news that Kimberly was pregnant,” a source close to the two says for the publication.
While the actor is going the extra mile to appear that he’s thrilled and even though he will undoubtedly do his best to provide for the child and the mom, that doesn’t change the fact that he wishes things were not what they are.
“He’s just not the settling down type and has never wanted kids. He made it crystal clear to Kimberly that they were just having a ‘no-strings-attached’ fling,” says the spy.
The insider claims Kim knew where Benicio stood from the get-go, but she still decided to have his child regardless. Luckily, whereas her former lover may not back her up on this, she knows she has all the support she needs at home.
“Her family has been amazing. They are rallying around her and being very supportive,” the insider explains.
Word online has it that the pregnancy could actually mark a step up for Kimberly in her career, as she’s been offered her own reality show, which would center on her life as a single mom living in the same house as the rest of her family.
