Rod Stewart can’t wait to be a granddad, but wishes Kimberly would’ve gotten married first

Benicio del Toro and Kimberly Stewart are expecting a child together, it was revealed earlier this week. If the parents are thrilled about the news, there’s at least one person who isn’t: grandpa Rod, Kimberly’s father, says a new report.

PopEater has learned that Rod, though father of 8, is none too happy at the thought that Benicio got his daughter pregnant during a casual romantic rendezvous or, to put it simply, a one night stand.

Though no one is saying (officially) that the child is the result of that, the fact that Benicio’s rep clearly said in the statement the two are not a couple would seem to imply that what they had was just a fling and not a serious relationship.

As it turns out, Rod was hoping his daughter would walk down the aisle before having a baby even though, as a purely informative note, he has 8 children from 6 different women.

“Rod Stewart may be thrilled to become a grandfather at 66, but a friend of the gravel-voiced icon reveals that doesn't mean he isn't furious at daddy-to-be Benicio Del Toro for casually getting his daughter pregnant,” PopEater says.

He may seem a true rebel, but Rod is anything but that, a friend of the star shares for the same e-zine under the cover of anonymity.

“Rod might seem like a wild man but deep down he is very conservative. What dad doesn’t dream of his daughter’s wedding day before she starts a family?” says the spy.

One thing that Rod is happy about is the fact that Benicio did the right and honorable thing by Kimberly and admitted that the child was his.

“Rod has always provided for his children, even his adopted daughter after he reunited with her. He can’t wait to be a cool granddad,” the same unnamed spy says of the legendary singer.

As of now, nothing else is known of the pregnancy, but rest assured you will find out more about it here, once other details come out.
