Canadian mobile phone carrier Bell has recently dropped the price tag of three of the smartphones available on its offering, including the high end BlackBerry Bold 9700, Blacks Berry Storm 9530 and Palm Pre. The Bold 2 is now available for purchase from the carrier for $50 less than before, while the Storm and Palm Pre can be snagged for free upon the signing of a three-year contract agreement with the operator.

The price tag for the BlackBerry Bold 9700, a smartphone that “makes it easy to stay connected worldwide, with a high-resolution screen, a powerful processor, and Wi-Fi connectivity,” as the carrier describes it on its website, has been lowered to $149.95 upon the signing of a three year contract agreement with Bell. The phone can also be purchased with a two-year or one-year contract, as well as free of contract, case in which it costs $599.95.

The BlackBerry Storm can be purchased from Bell for free on a three-year contract at the moment, and it can be seen on Bell's website here. “The first ever touch screen BlackBerry smartphone,” which “features a high resolution screen and 3.2 megapixel camera,” can also be acquired for $249.95 without a contract agreement, with a two-year service contract for $99.95, or with a one-year agreement for $199.95.

Another now free appealing device at Bell is the Palm Pre. The handset is exclusively available in Canada via this carrier, though it should soon come to Telus' offering too, mobilsyrup notes. Bell has had a hard time selling the webOS phone it seems, as it has performed a series of price cuts to it, until finally bringing it down to nothing, on a three-year contract agreement, of course, as one can see here. With no contract, the Pre will cost you $349.95, but other contract options are also available. Either due to slow sales or because of increasing competitiveness, these price cuts can be only good news for users.
