Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion announced recently the launch of its high-end BlackBerry Bold 9700 device on the market in Turkey, via leading communications company Turkcell. According to the company, the new BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone is available for Turkcell customers for a monthly plan that starts at 83 TL (around $55), and which brings them free voice calls and SMS messaging with other Turkcell users during weekend.

What the BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone is set to deliver to users includes high-end communications and multimedia features, a compact design, as well as great performance and functionality. The handset comes with a 624 MHz processor, coupled with 256 MB of Flash memory, 3G HSDPA connectivity options, built-in GPS receiver, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities. At the same time, the phone also includes a bright display and a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, a QWERTY keypad and a touch-sensitive trackpad for easy navigation, along with 3.5 mm stereo headset jack and dedicated volume buttons. The features list of Bold 9700 also includes: - a design that measures 4.29" x 2.36" x 0.56" (109 mm x 60 mm x 14.1 mm) and weighs 4.3 oz (122 grams) - a 2.44” light-sensing display (480 x 360 resolution at 245 ppi) - highly tactile full-QWERTY keyboard - BlackBerry OS 5.0, offering users email management and calendar enhancements as well as a better browsing experience with faster JavaScript and CSS processing - media player for videos, pictures and music (music plays up to 38 hours), and BlackBerry Media Sync for easily syncing photos as well as iTunes and Windows Media Player music with the smartphone - microSD/SDHD memory card slot that supports up to 16 GB cards today and is expected to support 32 GB cards when available; a 2GB card is included - support for BlackBerry Internet Service and BlackBerry Enterprise Server - removable, rechargeable 1500 mAhr battery that provides approximately 6 hours of talk time and 17 days of standby time in 3G mode.
