Canadian mobile phone carrier Virgin Mobile announced on Wednesday that it was getting ready to launch a series of powerful handsets that would work just fine with its HSPA+ network. According to the company, the launches are set to start very soon, and those interested in learning “when” and “what” can already register on its website to receive updates on the matter. Some of the hot devices that should soon make an appearance on the carrier's lineup include the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and the Apple iPhone 3GS, it seems, but others more will also be there.

“This is very exciting news for Virgin Mobile and for Canadians. We’ve come a long way since launch in 2005,” said Sir Richard Branson, chairman of the Virgin Group. “Virgin Mobile has been recognized time and time again for its brilliant customer experience and for always putting Canadians first. Now we’re getting ready to power up our services on an incredible new network featuring some of the world’s most coveted, loved and high-tech phones. Best of all, you will be able to get truly global mobile and take your Virgin Mobile to more than 200 countries with you – so you’re always just a call or text away from home!”

The company confirmed officially that it planned on launching the Blackberry Bold 9700 come February, and the same applies to a “hotly buzzed-about and adored touch-screen phone,” which should be none other than the iPhone 3GS. However, it seems that a great deal of other mobile phones is also set to make an appearance on its airwaves in the near future, and, even if the exact details haven't been disclosed so far, they will be soon. Virgin Mobile says that one group of devices will definitely attract users due to their Internet connectivity options, and adds that all phones are to become available via its 120 branded stores, as well as via its retail partner, The Source.

Those who will pre-register will also have the chance to win “two tickets to the summer’s hottest music event, Virgin Festival 2010,” the company notes. The first 100 pre-registered people who activate a new device will be the lucky ones, so, if you are interested on the deal, head over to the company's website to take your chance. “With a brand new network choice for Canadians, a hot new line-up and exciting new services, Virgin Mobile is set to really shake things up. […] Keep your eyes peeled for more news from Virgin Mobile Canada – next month will be a big one,” said Robert Blumenthal, president, Virgin Mobile Canada.
