Silent computing specialist, Be Quiet! Has just announced the release of a new line of power supply units, known as the Pure Power L8 series, which was designed in order to deliver quiet operation and a modular cable design at an affordable price point.

The new PSU series includes four models with a power output ranging from 430 to 730 Watts and delivering between 42A and 60A of current via two 12V rails.

No matter the Wattage of the PSUs, all the Pure Power L8 models are certified for running CrossFireX setups, and the top of the line 730W even comes with four PCI Express power connectors, two eight pins and two six pin.

The main advantage that the Pure Power L8 series hold over its competitors however is the quiet operation achieved by these PSUs as they were tweaked in order to be up to 10 dBA quieter than other similar power supplies.

In order to achieve this goal, Be Quiet! used 120mm SilentWings fans when designing the PSUs paired together with the company's low noise fan grill.

In addition, the Pure Power L8 power supply units are also compliant with a wide selection of safety standards and feature 80PLUS Bronze certification.

“For the first time in our ten years we are able to offer consumers a lineup of cable management enabled PSUs that provide price/performance features which are second to none in the industry!” said Oleg Ushkats, the director of the product development team.

“Additionally they give users proven be quiet! silencing technology that is up to a stunning 10 dB(A) quieter than similarly positioned models from the competition, even those with 140mm fans, at full load. They are significantly quieter at real world usage, too,” concluded the company's rep.

All Be Quiet! Pure Power L8 power supplies are shipping as we speak. Estimated retail prices (including VAT) start at 69,90€ for 430W PSU, which translates into about $94 US.

Models with 530 and 630 Watts will be 89,90€ and 99,90€ respectively ($121 and $134 US), while the top 730W model will sell for 109,90€ ($145 US).
