EA's DICE studio, after revealing for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 a new patch yesterday and a new piece of downloadable content, in the form of the VIP Map Pack 7 earlier today, has now confirmed a final release date for the newest expansion for the game, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam.

According to the Scandinavian studio, the new expansion will be arriving on December 18, for the PC, through digital download outlets like Steam or the EA Store, and on December 21, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, through the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Live Marketplace, respectively.

This special expansion pack, as its name suggests, will see special items added to the multiplayer of Bad Company 2, reminiscent of the Vietnam war.

It will bring 4 new multiplayer maps, 6 new vehicles and 15 new weapons, not to mention 49 songs from the time of the Vietnam war, in order to enhance the whole experience.

Besides all these features, 10 new achievements and trophies for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles are also included, which have been detailed a few weeks ago.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam will be available for download in exchange for $15, on the PC and the PlayStation 3, and 1200 Microsoft Points, if you want to get it for the Xbox 360.

All the preparations for the launch of this add-on were made with the release of yesterday's patch for the regular game, which fixed lots of issues and balancing problems, in both the single-player and the multiplayer modes.

Until then, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 players will be able to enjoy four new maps, thanks to the VIP Map Pack 7, which was released today, and is completely free for PC owners, and for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 ones that bought the game new and registered their VIP code.
