Ubisoft and Sony have confirmed that the recently released Assassin’s Creed: Revelations multiplayer beta will be opened later today for all users of the PlayStation Network online service, after being exclusive to PlayStation Plus members.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is set to appear later this year and legions of fans are once again anticipating the new adventures of Ezio Auditore, the main protagonist in the last couple of titles, as well as some new moments with Altair, from the first game, and Desmond, their ancestor.

Besides a full pledged single-player campaign with a story that will answer quite a lot of questions about the series, Ubisoft is also implementing lots of changes to the online multiplayer mode in Revelations.

In order to test them out, a multiplayer beta kicked off last weekend and will keep on going until September 11. While at first it was exclusive to PlayStation Plus members and PSN users who had their accounts tied to the uPlay network, the online beta is set to be extended later today for all users of the PlayStation Network.

"Since the Assassin’s Creed Revelations Beta is going so well, at 10:00 am today (PST) we have decided to open it up to all PSN users! The Beta is scheduled to end on the 11th of September, so get started on that download ASAP so you don’t miss even a moment of the action," Ubisoft community developer Gabriel Graziani revealed on the PlayStation blog.

During the beta, players can control nine different characters, whose skill sets can be changed depending on the style of the users. Three maps are available in the beta stage, including Knight's Hospital and Antioch, as well as Constantinople. Four modes can be experienced, two returning from the previous Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Wanted and Manhunt, while two are all-new, in the form of Deathmatch and Artifact Assault.

Expect the beta for Assassin’s Creed: Revelations online multiplayer to be released on PSN later today.
