What it is: Ubisoft struck gold with its Assassin’s Creed franchise, even if the first game wasn’t all that great. Since Assassin’s Creed 2, however, the popularity increased exponentially so, in the third consecutive year, we can expect a new iteration of the series, in the form of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

The new game follows the same main protagonist, Ezio Auditore, this time much older, who is trying to make sense of the life his ancestor, Altair, had and what secrets he hidden in the Middle East and Turkey.

With the promise of actual answers to the many questions posed by the fans of the series, as well as new weapons and even more over the top adventures, the new game is definitely looking great.

How it is: The Assassin’s Creed: Revelations demonstration covered the harbor scene that was already showcased at E3 2011, but this time a bigger emphasis was put on the hand to hand combat, as well as the new hook blade wielded by Ezio.

The fighting has really been refined by the Ubisoft team, while the number of executions, has been increased, this time with more details, making Ezio’s moves even more lifelike. He can know grasp enemies with the hook blade, bringing them close to his famously lethal hidden blade, as well as take down more enemies in a much easier way, as normal for such an experienced assassin.

As you know, however, he is still part of a brotherhood of assassins, so he can always call upon allies to help him take down guards, distract them or just do all of his dirty work while he tries to infiltrate or reach more important targets.

Overall, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is looking great and it’s definitely bringing quite a few improvements over its predecessor, in terms of animations and attention to details.

When and on what: Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is currently scheduled to appear on November 15, for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.
