Although the game isn't out yet, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed is already on the verge of receiving some awards. This action-adventure game is nominated for two awards by the Visual Effects Society, although they have seen only a trailer of the game.

Assassin's Creed could win Outstanding Real Time Visuals in a Video Game and Outstanding Pre-Rendered Visuals awards and the honorees could be Ubisoft Montreal staff, including Jade Raymond, Nicolas Cantin, Raphael Lacoste, Christophe Martin, Thomas Giroux, and Anne Mai Le Bouyonnec, mentions GameSpot.

Assassin's Creed is going against Fight Night Round 3 for the PS3 in the Outstanding Real Time Visuals Award. Fight Night Round 3 is developed by EA's Chicago studio and the ones receiving this award could be Sjoholm Christopher, Kat Kelly Hayduk, Hilson Rob, and Jepson Celia.

In the Pre-Rendered Visuals category, Assassin's Creed's competitors are Hellgate: London (another unreleased game) and Warhammer: Mark of Chaos. Namco Badai is the publisher for both of these games, and both trailers were created by the Tim Miller and Jerome Denjean team. Whichever game will win, the VES Awards will be handed out at the Kodak Grand Ballroom in Hollywood, also home to the Oscars and Nintendo's E3 press conference (should there be another E3).

Assassin's Creed takes place during the Third Crusade, in the year 1911. You are a member of the assassin sect Hashasin and the main objective of your sect is to assassinate nine historical figures who are the masterminds behind the crusades, therefore causing suffering to the people. It sounds interesting, but an exact release date was not yet announced, but it is a good thing that the game will come out on all the important gaming platforms, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
